You are fully Youtubeable now. So, you can follow the links, play the Youtube from the blog, or search yourself under the title "Detour Ahead, Sequence A or Sequence B"
I have DVDs for filmmakers who were not in attendance. You can retrieve your DVD copy of "Detour Ahead" from my mailbox in the Visual and Performing Arts Department Office. Ask Mrs. Lozano, the secretary.
Thank you for all your hard work. I am very proud of you all. I hope you are just as proud of yourselves.
P.S.
All outstanding assignments are due by Thursday, May 14 by 5:00 p.m., because that is when I am turning in my grade forms. Any assignment submitted after grade forms have been turned in will be disregarded.

Detour Ahead, debut presentation
Our premiere went well, but not well enough. We had video, but not enough audio. We had a crowd, but we had to share the shine. No more will we settle.
THURSDAY, MAY 7, 12:45-2:05, we will hold the debut for "Detour Ahead." The screening will take place in room 3319.
If you have a class at that time, see if you can be excused. Let me know who the instructor is.
There will definitely be an audience. I am asking all of my other classes to attend.
If you want to have something more than light fare--candy, cookies--then we will have to take up a donation. We will have something to snack on.
THURSDAY, MAY 7, 12:45-2:05, Debut for "Detour Ahead." The screening will take place in room 3319.
A talkback will follow.

Detour Ahead, Draft II
We scheduled a meeting for Monday at 5:00 to view the movie. Let's cancel that. You don't have to come, and if you can see this post, you can e-mail me your comments or post them in the comments section below.
Our premiere is Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. Tickets are $3.00 or $5.00 for the concert that follows.
We will have better quality when we export the movie as a real movie not an internet file. For the time being, this has been handy, though.
Good morning.

Film Treatment 2 [finished]
When the narrator reaches the place,he is thrown into a room of other boys his age;some he even knows fron school.the narrator is puzzled.first he is woundering why arent theboys trying to excape and why they are wearing boxers uniforms. When he asked another boy what was going on,the second bot pionts to the door. the narrator peeks out to see two men on either side of the door with guns. petrified the narrator creeps back into the room, unnoticed. just then, the door swings open and a pair of shorts and gloves are trown in the narrators face by a guard. The narrator is told to hurry upunless he perfered a "dirt nap". the boys line up single file and are lead to another room full of suited patrons ,dressed just as the narrator once was.without thinking, the narrator blurts that the guard is mistaken and that he belongs in the group with the suited men. the guard threatens him once more and punches him hard in the back.
the boys in boxershortswere told tosxtandin fron to f the suited patrons. another man in a suit[Mr. Andrews] enters the room with a woman on each arm[Chanel and Natasha]. he announces that the boys were selected because they exercised too much "softness"and that the obtacles he will put them through will allow them to harness"true Manliness"
He [Mr. Andrews] and the girls walk over to an isolated chair, where Mr. Andrews sits down.
music is turned on[Kanye west- flashing lights] and the two women walk to the middle of the floor to dance.while they dance the suited patrons sit silently excited and in awe; the boxers too,all accept for the narrator. he is looking at the floor.he shows that he recognizes Mr Andews and doesnt want to offend him by looking at the dancers. Natasha [blonde] is dancing in front of the narrator and is trying to get him to look up at her.she looks over at Mr. Andrews to find that he is highly upset at her lacking effort. somehow, she conjurs up enough prowess to get the narrator to look at her when he does, he ends up liking her and, finds our she doesnt want to be there anymore than he does. and vice versa. when the dance is over, the narrator finds Natashas earring on the ground,he swiftlry picks it up and plans on returning it to her so he can see her again.
soon after, all the boys are lined up again to go back to the first room untill the fight starts. the narrator is last in line. he walks past Natashas dressing room when the door flings open and he is pulled in.Natsha instructs the narrator to stand behind the door in case Chanel comes back. Chanel is sneaky and will surely tell Mr. Adrews. Chanel doesnot like natasha because she is young and can possibly make mr Andrew more money.
the narrator expressed to Natasha how he knew Mr. andrews As a school teacher and how he always though he was wierd and harased him frequently for one thing or another durring school. Natasha met him when she ran away form home, from then on he was her only means of survival. The narrator remembers to give her her earring.she takes it ,thanks him and says that everyday she regreted running away because she used to be rich, well at least her parents were before they died. on a news special one day she watched everything she owned was sold at auction. just one earring cost 1,500, 3,000 total. she said if she ever got away from mr andrews shed pawn her earrings and make a better life for herself. they both decided to come up with a plan to excape but then they heard someone outside the door ,Chanel.Natasha rushes narrator out the door before Chanel turns around to enter. Chanel tell natasha about her plans to make mr andrews fall in love with her and if Natasha did anything to upset that, there would be dire concequences.with that, she left the room to visit mr andrews.
mr andrews is sitting in his lair with his feet proped up on his desk lookin as though he is in deep thought.he didt turn his head or move when chanel enters. Chanel walks behind his chair and begins to to massage his shoulders. Mr Andrews again does not respond to her seduction.he only he picks p a newspaper and files through it.Chanel relays to him her proposal and how she has strong feelings for him and feels that rather than be a dancer she wants to be his partner.Mr. Andrews and Chanel laugh in unison.Sudenly Mr. Andrews grabs Chanel and pins her to the top of his desk with one hand.she stares at his stone face in horror,as he proceedes to tell her that he does not like nor love her or any one of his prostitutes for that matter they are just things to be sold.period. and that reason is the only reason he handnt killed her for such a proposal to him. he smirlks meniacally and overlooks her face for any bruses.in a calm voice he tells her to changeand get ready for the fight.
the fight begins, Mr andrews enters the ring and announces that the boys he has chosen will fight for the right to be called true men; or die trying. thne men are thrown int the ring and instructed to fight any and everybody. due to exhaustion the boys start collapsing all accept the narrator. he is yanked out of the ring.a man jams his speech in to his hand and throws a tie around his neck, despite the fact that he is sweaty amd bloody.despite the spectators khackling and jeering. he proceedes to give his speech. in it he talkksabout how he never knew who he was and was asking everyone else besides himself .about how he didt fit in and now he knows he didt fit in for a reason. and that reson is to do extrordinary thingsand how each and every able person in the room has the power to do the same.
Natasha, Chanel and even Mr. andrews are touched by the narrators speech just before mr. andrews could relay how he felt cops burst in and arrest him for solicitation.while Mr andrewsis dragged out of the room chanell retreats to his quarters and takes every scrap of money she can findand rushes for the door.she spots natasha cleanig up the narrator and stops. without saying a word she reaches into her purse and graps two stacks of money and slams it in each of thier hands and walks out the door.
natasha asksthe narrator if he is alright he reassures her that he is ok, besides the bruises. natasha helps the narrator as thet sumble through the doorway and leave

The main character recieves the memo and the location of the company party. He does not recognize the location. He follows the address and beleves it is a restuarant or banquet hall where the party is rumored to be usually held. Upon arrival he notices it is an old building that is in a neighborhood known for prostitution and crime. He is puzzled but goes in anyway comes to find out it is a underground strip club and casino. He notices that there are girls performing and his coworkers are gambling and spending there paychecks on girls for "one night only" dreamgirls lol. He wants to leave but is spotted by Mister Andrews, his boss and is forced to stay. After awhile he has loosened up and takes part in the fun. He is gambling and is losing and winning money equally. He also learns that he will be possibly promoted if he could win Mr. Andrews some money to save the company. He thinks his girlfriend would never approve of this or the underground company strip party. but the promotion will help him with his marriage plans. When all of a sudden there is an announcement a special performance by a dancer new to the club. She comes out and it is his secret office girlfriend. They spot each other. Some coworkers are shocked others are screaming and hollering cheers of excitement and ignorance. So much for that proposal!!!

Film Treatment 2 Characters-Dancer girls

Natasha [blonde]:
She is nice and sweet and is a dancer as a last resort. the fight where we meet our hero is her first ever performance. She is nervous to perform in front of such a large group of men, despite her shyness shen performs with Chanel[dancer 2] and does a good job. Natasha Dances for the Narrator but the narrator refuses to look at her so he would not offend mr. Andrews.ultimately she conjurs up enough prowess to get the narrator to look at her and they both are enjoying themselves but the narrator know she doesnt want to be there no more than he does. Ultimately they both find ways of excaping.

Chanel:
She is Mr. Andrews most loyal dancer. She secretly Despises Natasha because she is younger and can make mr andrews more money .since he hired Natasha, Chanel also feel as though she is falling out of favor with mr andrews, only to find out he Niether likes nor loves either girl.
and only sees thine as things to be sold. Chanel make the hard choice whether to remain loyal to mr Andrews or rob him and make a better life for herself.
although both roles contrast eachother, both girl
have to be sensual in thier every movement.

Costumes: Dancer Girls
above are a set of drawings of the Dancers cotumes. both of these i can make or have already[i have the black skirt already,it fits a size 12-14,ill have to make the dress]. in My Film Treatment there are two dancers ,one is good and one is bad. Since the blonde girl is essential to the film there shoud be more shots focused on her[And YES lol, i want to be casted as one fo the dancers if my film treatment is used]Also since the dancer scene is essential to the film, i tohught about using Kanye west's song "Flashing Lights" to play in the back ground
And the blonde wig can be made by simply purchasing some cheap blonde hair, hair glue, and a wig cap and gluing the hair to the cap while it is on the girls head [this i also know how to do] this way, the actor does not have to sacrifice thier own hair and the newly made wig can be cut and curled into[almost] any desired style.

Battle Royal: Treatment 2-28

Flashback to where it all starts. The protagonist and his friends discuss the influence of Mr. Arnie's establishment on the neighborhood. They are aware of young girls, as young as 10 or 11, being turned out to drugs and prostitution as a result of Arnie's pressure and influence. Likewise, the band of do gooders have observed an influx of foreign girls, speaking little English, in and out of the neighborhood, and in particular, the Gentleman's Club. The friends agree that they will rid their neighborhood of Arnie's insidious influence for good.
The group plot to assasinate Arnie. They owe a great deal of debt to one of Arnie's special girls. She has her own motive, but aiding in the overthrow of Ms/Mr Arnie will help achieve the goal. She helps the would-be assasins, but, unfortunately, the plot is foiled. All but one of the boys escape--our hero.
Ms./Mr. Arnie challenges the hero to a cage battle. If the young man wins, he takes the grand prize $100,000.00. If the young man loses, well... There is only one loss in the cage battle, Arnie warns: death. Little does Arnie know, a far greater prize hangs in the balance than $100,000.00. Arnie's influence on the neighborhood will be, forever, thwarted by the plans of our hero and his band of friends.

The cage battle begins with ten men and a host of observers. Though our hero fights valiantly, he loses the battle. A second battle begins, for change tossed by the rich, corrupt observers. However, in a final grandstand, the protagonist performs a dance--part fight, part battle--which captivates the audience. Meanwhile, the friends kidnapp Mr/Ms Arnie.
The special girl turned renegade awards the young hero with the money, though technically, he has lost the prize. Meanwhile, Mr./Ms. Arnie is hustled out of the neighborhood for good.

Shot suggestions for "Battle Royale"

i chose this image because it creates volume and the illusion of a crowd . picture, intead of motorcycles, people, from head to shoulders. this is a nice way to capture most if not all awestruck facial expressions and other action in the scene with the dancer.

also,i think since it is crucial in the story for the dancer to be blonde, i think the dancer should look like an aboriginal belly dancer. [i.e. dark skin, bloned hair, and blue eyes.]
